What to know before you go – Property:

  • Nearest Green Distillery Tour & Tasting – During this guided tour, you will have an opportunity to walk through various sites throughout our distillery. As well as taste our Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey Flight. This Flight includes the Master Blend Edition, which is now sold exclusively at Nearest Green Distillery. You will be walking a little more than ½ mile throughout our property. We ENCOURAGE guests to wear supportive footwear and be prepared for different weather elements.
  • Single Barrel Thieving Experience – This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, exclusive thieving tasting in our very own Rickhouse from actual barrels. Which include two single barrel expressions, Single Barrel Black Label and Single Barrel Rye. All guests receive a special gift.
  • Taste of History – This hour-long experience features a tasting of our most exclusive whiskey expressions, as well as a lesson on blending like a master whiskey blender. Additionally, you’ll experience a deeper look into our barrel rickhouse, and explore how barrels are made and whiskey is aged.
  • Nearest Green Distillery Tour & Tasting in Spanish (TBD) – We highly recommend this experience. It’s unlike any other! THIS EXPERIENCE IS ENTIRELY IN SPANISH. During this guided tour, you will have the opportunity to walk through various sites throughout our distillery, as well as taste our Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey flight, which includes the Master Blend Edition, which is now sold exclusively at Nearest Green Distillery. Yes, there is no parking fee at the distillery.

Yes, you can! We are offering packages for Barrel House BBQ and Humble Baron-The World’s Longest Bar. For more information, please submit an inquiry at: https://www.humblebaron.com/private-event

Yes, you can take pictures while at the distillery; however we ask that you not use flash photography while on tour. While professional photography at the distillery is not permitted, we more than welcome you to make memories with your family and friends on your smart phone or personal camera.

Yes, we do have accessible parking spaces in our lot as well as paved grounds in which you can use a wheelchair, scooters or walkers while out on tour. If you need to use a wheelchair while at the distillery, please go to the Welcome Center and request one. Please note wheelchairs are limited and not guaranteed. Once a liability form is signed, you can use it while on the property. Please return it back to the Welcome Center once done.

Here at the Distillery, we love pets; however we can truly only allow service animals. By Tennessee law, a service animal is defined by being individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual or other mental disability. Other species of animals, whether wild or domestic, trained or untrained, are not service animals for the purposes of this definition. The work or tasks performed by a service animal must be directly related to the individual’s disability. Examples of work or tasks include, but are not limited to; assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision with navigation and other work tasks. 

Yes. Shelbyville is located in a quaint and rural part of Middle Tennessee and you can not access the distillery via public transportation. We recommend driving or hiring round trip ride share. If you are in a larger group we recommend charting a bus. Please see below for recommended companies:

Yes, we can host group tours of 18-24 guests or more per time slot for the tour experience-Nearest Green Distillery Tour & Tasting.

No. At the moment we do not offer gift cards but please check back in the future.

In the state of Tennessee, the drinking age is 21. Please ensure that you bring either one of the following: driver’s license, government issued identification card, passport, military id or immigration service documentation card. If cold or rainy weather persists, we recommend either a jacket, umbrella or poncho. During much warmer weather, please wear light clothing, sunscreen and sneakers.

On the tour, you will get to walk the grounds of our 458-acre property. And what a sight, it’s a master class in storytelling and history making. No matter where you turn on our property, we are either unveiling history making moments of the past or history being made in the present.

Yes. Please go to the Welcome Center, ask for the stamp and provide your book for the poker chip as well. Don’t have one? We have plenty, just inform us and we can get you one. Need the code for the online Whiskey Passport? We have it as well, it is 1779.

Yes. You can purchase our whiskey during all hours of operation.

No. In Tennessee, you have to be a certified carrier like UPS or Fedex.

We do offer a third-party source called Reserve Bar to purchase some of our whiskey expressions. Check out their website: https://www.reservebar.com/

Yes, you can take whiskey on the plane as long as you check your bag you can have 5 Liters (1.3 gallons) per passenger and must be in unopened retail packaging. For more information check out TSA’s website: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/alcoholic-beverages 

Yes, we do offer shipping here at the distillery for merchandise, however you will have to pay the shipping cost to do so and we do not ship our whiskey. Please see above how to get your whiskey shipped to your home.

Yes. We have two restaurants on site: Chuck’s Barrel House BBQ II and Humble Baron-The World’s Longest Bar.

The bar is named after our Co-Founder Keith Weaver by our CEO Fawn Weaver as he has always been kind and throughout his storied career as an Executive Vice President for one of the largest movie studios in the world and one of the highest ranking Black executives in Hollywood for more than 20 years, causes people to look at him as a baron. But he’s remained the humblest person throughout his impressive career. And so for this, Keith is our Humble Baron. “A Humble Baron is a kind individual who exudes gratitude and understands the measure of success is enjoying delicious food, great conversations,amazing drinks, and soul-stirring music with family and friends…old and new.”

Humble Baron-The World’s Longest Bar is Guinness World Record certified at 518 feet long with 202 barstools wrapped stunningly around it complete with a state of the art indoor stage.

Yes, we do. All  donations and sponsorship requests must be within a 40 mile radius of the distillery and have at least a minimum of a 12 week notice.
