Are Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskies (including Nearest Green) Gluten-Free?
Here’s What The Tests Show.
All Uncle Nearest whiskeys are distilled from grain, which naturally contains gluten. But because gluten proteins do not carry over during distillation, our whiskey is effectively gluten-free.
To uphold transparency and trust, we regularly send random samples to a leading, triple TTB-certified lab for gluten testing. All of our results have consistently come back between 0 and 6 parts per million — well below the FDA threshold of 20 ppm for gluten-free classification.
While we meet FDA requirements, the TTB prevents us from putting “gluten-free” on the bottle, as the product began with gluten-containing proteins that were later distilled out. We are proud to share that Uncle Nearest whiskeys meet the safety standards recognized by the FDA and international celiac organizations.
